Professionally trained personnel assist prospective students in assembling all admission credentials so that a transition into the college environment can be as smooth and problem free as possible. Lamar Institute of Technology, a two-year college in The Texas State University System, offers educational opportunities through an open admissions policy which admits students who can benefit from post-secondary education. A student may be admitted to Lamar Institute of Technology based on one of the following criteria:

  • High School Completer
  • GED Certificate Holder
  • Dual Enrollment Student
  • Readmission Student
  • Transfer Student
  • International Student

Admission to Lamar Institute of Technology does not guarantee admission to specific courses or programs of study. Prerequisites and co-requisites are required for some courses. Lamar Institute of Technology reserves the right to refuse admission or readmission to any applicant who does not satisfy the admission criteria.
